We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Field Technician (Facilities)
Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full-time
Job Objective
Field technician to provide field support, resolve incidents, install, maintain, test and certification of facilities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1st Level 24/7 field support, escalation / on-call, national and international travel as required.
Proactive monitoring of equipment & facilities.
Preventative Maintenance.
Facility installation, testing & commissioning, bringing into service, integration.
Facility repairs and upgrades in the office as requested/required.
Assist with telecom field support as required.
Maintain records, inventory, and spares of materials.
POC Testing of equipment in the lab as required.
Incident and problem resolution as directed by Operations/Facilities manager.
Installation/Maintenance of existing electrical infrastructure in the field.
Routine audit of sites, identifying issues and implementing remediation.
Assist with creation of ad hoc reports as needed.
Assist other departments and lead and report on projects as requested.
Requirements
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in a technical field or relevant experience.
Experience & Skills:
Three (3) years technical experience as a power technician with competent to inspect and repair electrical installations.
Preferably telecoms Industry experience with knowledge in the Data centre style environment.
Experience installing and maintaining AC (single and 3-phase) systems.
Experience with distribution boards and breakers, earthing & bonding requirements.
DC power installations & maintenance.
Installation & Maintenance of batteries, rectifiers, UPS and PDU units used in the Telecoms industry.
Experience in installing and maintaining air conditioning units and environmental monitoring (an advantage)
Build out of data centre rooms including cabinets, racks, fibre trays and other supporting infrastructure – assisting RF teams
Experience in installation and maintenance of security systems including CCTV, door locks, fingerprint scanners, alarms and electric fences (an advantage)
Inspect and test fire systems, check for fire hazards, fire exits and fire extinguishers.
Maintain equipment & PPE in good working order – with inspections of equipment as required.
Experience of groundworks when laying cables.
Must be computer literate to effectively record information/data accurately, concisely in a timely manner and submit reports in a timely manner.
Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge and experience in OHSA - health and safety file management, including covid-19 protocols.
Qualified first aider, check first aid equipment.
