Job Title: Finance & Account Manager

Job Purpose
To oversee and manage the end-to-end finance function — including financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, treasury, and control — ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strategic alignment with the organization’s goals.
The role supports the CFO in driving financial performance, governance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Accounting
Supervise day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.
Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules prepared by the accounting team.
Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, financial statements, and variance analyses.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, local statutory requirements, and internal accounting policies.
Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and resolve audit queries promptly.
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Planning:
Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process in collaboration with departmental heads.
Monitor financial performance against budget and provide insight on variances.
Develop financial models to support strategic planning and business decisions.
Provide the CFO with analysis and recommendations on cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
Treasury and Cash Flow Management:
Oversee cash management, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operations and investments.
Manage bank relationships, optimize cash utilization, and monitor loan obligations.
Review and authorize payment runs, transfers, and investment placements.
Implement robust controls over cash, banking, and treasury transactions.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Maintain a strong internal control environment across all finance processes.
Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory reporting, and corporate governance standards.
Periodically review financial policies and procedures for relevance and effectiveness.
Conduct periodic internal checks to identify control gaps and recommend improvements.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of accountants to ensure high performance and continuous learning.
Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining oversight and accountability.
Foster a collaborative and disciplined team culture aligned with Finance’s strategic goals.
Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training or capacity development needs.
Business Partnering and Strategic Support:
Collaborate with departmental heads to provide financial insight and decision support.
Evaluate new business initiatives, contracts, and investment proposals for financial viability.
Support the CFO in strategic planning, board reporting, and stakeholder communications.
Serve as deputy to the CFO when required, ensuring business continuity and alignment.
Systems and Process Improvement:
Oversee the maintenance and optimization of the accounting/ERP system.
Drive automation and process efficiency within the finance function.

Requirements
What you will be required:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification highly preferred.
6 - 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
Proven experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Demonstrable experience in treasury management principles, including cash flow optimization and basic investment/risk management.
Strong understanding of tax regulations and audit processes, with experience coordinating with external consultants and auditors.
Proficiency in project financial analysis, cost accounting, and gross margin analysis.
Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, etc.).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
Strong organizational skills and thorough attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
