We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Governance, Risk, Audit, and Compliance (GRAC) Lead
The Governance, Risk, Audit, and Compliance (GRAC) Lead is responsible for developing and managing integrated strategies and frameworks to ensure strong corporate governance, effective risk management, robust internal controls, and adherence to regulatory and compliance obligations.
This leadership role provides oversight, guidance, and assurance across business functions, supporting strategic and operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Governance:
Establish and maintain governance frameworks, policies, and practices aligned with corporate and regulatory standards.
Coordinate with executive leadership and board committees to ensure transparency and accountability.
Maintain policy registers and oversee regular reviews and updates of corporate policies and charters.
Risk Management:
Lead enterprise risk management (ERM) activities, including risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning.
Develop and maintain a risk register and facilitate risk workshops across departments.
Monitor emerging risks and ensure appropriate escalation and treatment plans are in place.
Promote a risk-aware culture through training and awareness campaigns.
Internal Audit:
Design and implement the internal audit plan in alignment with risk priorities and regulatory expectations.
Conduct internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of controls, processes, and systems.
Report audit findings to management and ensure timely resolution of audit issues.
Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during assessments and audits.
Compliance:
Ensure the organization complies with relevant laws, regulations, standards, and internal policies.
Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations.
Develop and manage compliance training programs for staff across levels.
Conduct compliance reviews and investigations where necessary.
Leadership & Collaboration:
Act as a trusted advisor to executive management on matters of governance, risk, audit, and compliance.
Liaise with legal, finance, IT, HR, and other departments to promote alignment and consistency in controls.
Mentor and lead a small team of risk, audit, and compliance professionals (if applicable).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Completion of audit and risk plans within deadlines
Reduction in unresolved audit/compliance findings
Policy review and compliance rates
Regulatory reporting accuracy and timeliness
Risk incident frequency and severity
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience in risk management, internal audit, compliance, or governance roles.
Strong knowledge of GRC frameworks (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000, COBIT).
Experience in regulated industries or environments with high compliance standards is preferred.
Skills:
Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High ethical standards and sound judgment.
Proficiency in audit and GRC software/tools (e.g., SAP GRC, RSA Archer, MetricStream).
Job Offer
An estimated salary range of N250,000 - N400,000 per month.
