The Commercial Lead will be responsible for owning and growing a high-potential portfolio that spans sexual wellness, hygiene, and personal care products.
This person will lead the business across key accounts, distributors, field sales, and ecommerce — and will be fully accountable for building a category-defining business in Nigeria.
This role is not for spectators. We need a builder, operator, and commercial executor with proven success leading B2B and B2C sales across both pharmacy and retail landscapes. You’ll manage everything from pricing to partnerships, with full P&L ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership:
Define and execute the growth strategy for the HHPC portfolio in Nigeria.
Own the full commercial P&L and deliver aggressive sales and margin targets.
Set clear revenue and market share goals, and lead the charge to exceed them.
Key Accounts & Pharmacy Channel Management:
Lead direct relationships with pharmacy chains, supermarkets, and modern tradeplayers.
Develop and manage JBPs, pricing strategies, shelf execution, and trade activation plans.
Secure visibility, listings, and commercial partnerships that drive volume and brand equity.
Distributor & Trade Development:
Build and manage a strong distributor network, ensuring territory coverage and performance.
Define and optimize the route-to-market strategy for Nigeria, balancing direct and indirect channels.
Support inventory planning, distributor training, trade programs, and incentive models.
Sales Execution & Field Force:
Lead and scale a performance-driven sales team or distributor field force to execute in-market goals.
Track and manage field execution KPIs, including outlet coverage, visibility, and sales conversion.
Portfolio Strategy & Execution:
Drive performance across a multi-brand, multi-category portfolio covering sexual wellness, personal hygiene, and beauty care.
Shape brand and SKU strategy, including pricing, assortment, promotions, and launch planning.
Monitor performance by channel, region, and product line, and lead commercial interventions where needed.
Cross-Functional Alignment:
Work with marketing, finance, regulatory, and supply chain to ensure aligned execution and long-term growth.
Lead commercial input into demand planning, activation, regulatory compliance, and product innovation.
Experience and Qualification
8 - 12+ years of experience in FMCG, personal care, pharma/OTC, or consumer health.
Deep expertise in key account management, particularly with pharmacy chains, supermarkets, and top distributors in Nigeria.
Strong track record of owning P&L and delivering commercial growth in a fast-paced environment.
Experience building and leading sales or commercial teams at scale.
Proven ability to design and execute go-to-market plans with excellence.
Key Skills & Attributes:
Strong commercial acumen and data-driven decision-making.
Strategic thinker with high operational discipline.
Entrepreneurial, hands-on, and execution-oriented.
Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambitious, high-growth environments.
Desirable (But Not Required):
Experience with sexual wellness, intimate care, or personal hygiene products.
Prior work launching or scaling consumer health/beauty brands.
Familiarity with ecommerce and omnichannel sales strategies.
What Success Looks Like:
National distribution footprint with strong product availability across key accounts and general trade.
Double-digit monthly growth across the HHPC portfolio.
Exceptional trade relationships and best-in-class field execution.
