Job Title: Facilities Supervisor
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Job Summary
The Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the effective maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of the company’s premises.
The role covers all building systems, utilities, and equipment, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standard, fully operational, and compliant with relevant Nigerian health, safety, and hospitality regulations.
The Facilities Supervisor will work closely with Food & Beverage, Events, and Housekeeping teams to uphold exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs:
Oversee daily inspections and coordinate maintenance and repair works across all facilities, including dining areas, kitchens, bars, lounges, meeting rooms, offices, and staff areas.
Plan and implement preventative maintenance schedules for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, kitchen equipment, lifts, and lighting systems.
Supervise and evaluate the work of contractors and suppliers, ensuring quality standards are met.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure the premises meet all legal and regulatory requirements relating to safety, hygiene, and environmental impact.
Maintain fire safety equipment and protocols, including emergency lighting and evacuation plans.
Oversee waste disposal and recycling in line with sustainability initiatives.
Contractor & Supplier Management:
Source, negotiate, and manage external service providers for maintenance, cleaning, pest control, and equipment servicing.
Monitor service agreements and ensure suppliers meet contractual obligations.
Asset & Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of all assets, warranties, and service histories.
Monitor and control stock levels of maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts.
Team Supervision:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of facilities and maintenance staff.
Provide training in safety procedures, proper equipment use, and hygiene standards.
Event & Operational Support:
Ensure meeting rooms, private dining spaces, and event areas are prepared and in perfect working order.
Provide technical and logistical support for special events, particularly those involving VIP guests.
Requirements
Education:
First Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Professional qualification in Facilities Management or Building Services will be an added advantage.
Desirable:
IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety certification.
Training in fire safety, first aid, or sustainability management.
Experience with CAFM (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) systems.
Experience:
3 - 6 years experience in a facilities or maintenance supervisory role within hospitality, leisure, or similar high-end service environment.
Skills and Competencies:
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry).
Familiarity with Nigerian hospitality facilities standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and building schematics.
