Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, formerly Ondo State University, was established in 1982 by an act of the Ondo State Government. The University relocated to its present site at Akungba-Akoko in 1999. At present, it has a little over 20,000 students, 1,200 staff and seven Faculties - Agriculture, Arts, Education, Environmental Design and Management, Law, Science, and Social & Management Sciences.

Description
The Registry is the administrative hub of the University. The office of the Registrar is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administrative work of the University.
The Registry thus provides quality services that enable the University to achieve its goals in teaching, learning, research and community service.
Duties
The Registrar is a Principal Officer of the University. The candidate for the post shall be a visionary who can provide good leadership and command respect and loyalty of staff of the Registry. The candidate must also possess integrity and demonstrable transparency.
The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University and Secretary to the Council, the Senate, Congregation and Convocation.
He/she must be highly computer literate and proficient in relevant computer applications to e-administration, as applicable to the running of a complex and modern University system.
Qualifications and Experience
The person for the post of Registrar is required to possess a good honors Degree, with at least Second Class (Lower Division) plus a Master's Degree from a recognized University and must have at least fifteen (15) unbroken years post-qualification administrative experience and must have served as a Deputy Registrar in a University or an Institution of comparable status.
The candidate for this position must have served as a Deputy Registrar for at least three (3) years.
Membership of a recognized professional body is required.
Tenure
The appointment shall be for a period of five (5) years.
He/she must not be older than sixty (60) years as at the time of taking up the appointment.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
The remuneration and conditions of service are as applicable to the position of Registrar in Nigerian Public Universities, and as may be determined by the University Governing Council from time to time.
