Job Title: Senior Tendering & Proposal Officer
Location: Lekki, Lagos
Key Responsibilities
As the Senior Tendering and Proposal Officer, you will:
Manage proposal teams: Oversee cross-functional teams responsible for creating technical and commercial proposals to ensure timely and high-quality submissions.
Lead proposal reviews: Conduct structured reviews of proposal drafts to ensure alignment with client requirements, internal standards, and win strategies.
Oversee pricing models: Develop and validate pricing structures that are competitive, profitable, and aligned with market conditions and internal cost models.
Ensure consistency in proposal format and branding: Standardize proposal layout, language, and branding to maintain a professional and cohesive presentation across all submissions.
Liaise with Legal for risk reviews: Coordinate with Legal to assess and mitigate contractual and commercial risks in tender documents and client contracts.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Maintain a minimum proposal success rate of 30% indicating effective bid strategies and competitiveness.
On-time submission of bids: Ensure 100% adherence to bid submission deadlines, minimizing disqualification risks and enhancing client trust.
Compliance with legal/contractual input: Guarantee all proposals are reviewed and aligned with legal and contractual requirements to mitigate risk and ensure enforceability.
Quality review scores: Achieve high internal/external review ratings for proposal structure, clarity, completeness, and alignment with client needs.
Gross margin projection vs. delivery: Align projected gross margins at bid stage with actual delivery outcomes, ensuring commercial accuracy and profitability.
Staff mentoring effectiveness: Monitor and improve team performance through mentoring, reflected in increased individual capability, engagement, and retention.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences or Engineering is preferred.
Work experience as a multi discipline Engineer with experience in EPCI Project Management, Tendering and Proposal, sales and business development.
Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in Tendering and Proposal, Sales, Business Development, or related roles within the oil & gas, EPCIC, or energy services sector.
Proven track record of revenue growth and successful tendering in high-value projects.
Experience and demonstrated skill in supervising, performing and presenting cost control and analysis, schedule development and overall project reporting activities.
Excellent understanding of the Nigerian oil & gas market, NIPEX tendering processes, and regulatory frameworks.
Skills & Competecies:
Leadership skills and ability to motivate teams and leading cross-functional collaboration for successful bids.
Technical knowledge of engineering, procurement and construction techniques.
Strong analytical and financial acumen.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Attention to detail for ensuring compliance with tender requirements and accuracy in bid submissions.
Time Management to meet deadlines and manage multiple tender processes simultaneously.
Knowledge of industry trends and competitive landscape.
