We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Scientist with a strong background in biomedical or medical laboratory science who is interested in developing a career as an Application Specialist.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on exposure to CLIA (Chemiluminescence Immunoassay) technology and be motivated to grow into a client-facing role that combines technical expertise with training, application support, and sales enablement.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in:
Client training and support
Test menu expansion
Pre- and post-installation application support
Technical enablement of the sales process.
Key Responsibilities
Client Training & Support:
Conduct on-site and remote training for clients on CLIA system operation, maintenance, and assay interpretation.
Provide application and troubleshooting support to ensure optimal performance and client satisfaction.
Develop training materials and user guides for clients and internal teams.
Test Menu Expansion:
Identify opportunities to expand the CLIA test menu within client facilities.
Engage with laboratory personnel and clinicians to introduce new parameters and clinical applications.
Monitor and report utilization trends to recommend test expansion strategies.
Sales Support:
Partner with the sales team to deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations.
Provide application knowledge during product positioning and objection handling.
Support validation studies and site evaluations.
Technical Application Management:
Participate in installation, verification, and validation of CLIA instruments.
Work closely with service engineers for smooth technical onboarding.
Stay updated on product innovations and competitor technologies.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate records of training, installations, and client interactions.
Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Number of successful client trainings completed monthly/quarterly
Percentage increase in test menu utilization per client
Client satisfaction and feedback ratings
Number of successful demos and sales application support activities
Response and resolution times for client queries.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 - 6 years’ experience as a Laboratory Scientist, ideally with exposure to CLIA platforms in clinical or commercial lab settings.
Strong interest in transitioning into an Application Specialist role with responsibilities spanning technical support, training, and sales enablement.
Technical Skills:
Good understanding of CLIA principles, instrumentation, and workflow.
Familiarity with test validation, quality control, and troubleshooting.
Strong communication, teaching, and presentation abilities.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel to client locations as needed.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and handle pressure.
Preferred Experience:
Prior exposure to platforms such as Abbott Architect, Snibe, YHLO, Roche, or similar.
Knowledge of LIS integration and laboratory workflow optimization.
