Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Description

• We are seeking a skilled and detail-driven Electrical Engineer to join our construction firm.
• The ideal candidate who should be within 30-40 years of age will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the installation and maintenance of electrical systems within our building and infrastructure projects.
• You will ensure that all electrical designs are safe, efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with relevant codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, and control systems for construction projects.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and electrical layouts using AutoCAD or other design software.
• Conduct load calculations, energy analysis, and system sizing to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and project teams to integrate electrical systems into overall building designs.
• Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems on site.
• Ensure compliance with national and international electrical codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Evaluate contractor bids, materials, and equipment specifications.
• Inspect completed installations and issue reports, as-built drawings, and certifications.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues during construction or maintenance phases.
• Provide technical support, cost estimation, and value engineering input during project planning and execution.

Education and Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional certification or membership (e.g., COREN, NSE, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux, or similar electrical design software.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting systems, grounding, fire alarms, and low voltage systems.
• Excellent understanding of construction processes, materials, and project management principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design, installation, and supervision within the construction industry.
