Job Title: Business Development Manager (In-Vitro Diagnostics IVD Lagos)

Role Purpose
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving sales growth, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and expanding Uni-medical’s IVD footprint in their designated region.
This role focuses on promoting and selling immunoassay, chemistry, hematology, and molecular diagnostics solutions, securing strategic partnerships, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Growth:
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for IVD equipment and reagents.
Drive reagent rental, outright equipment sales, and service contract opportunities.
Develop and implement sales strategies tailored to hospitals, diagnostic centers, government accounts, and private labs in the region.
Market Development:
Identify and develop new business opportunities with hospitals, private diagnostic centers, and government agencies.
Expand Uni-medical’s presence in tenders, Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), and institutional accounts.
Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to shape winning strategies.
Client Relationship Management:
Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers (Medical Directors, Lab Managers, Procurement Heads, and Ministry of Health officials).
Act as the primary contact for assigned clients, ensuring excellent customer experience.
Collaborate with application specialists and service engineers to ensure client satisfaction post-installation.
Product Promotion & Awareness:
Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and scientific workshops.
Position Snibe, Abbott, Agappe, Sysmex, and Cepheid products as preferred solutions Lagos & southwestregion.
Collaborate with Uni-medical marketing department for targeted campaigns and regional exhibitions.
Partnerships & Tenders:
Track and engage in federal and state government tenders relevant to IVD products.
Develop proposals for PPP models with hospitals and government institutions.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
Maintain accurate sales pipelines, forecasts, and customer databases.
Submit weekly and monthly reports on sales performance, opportunities, and competitor activities.
Work closely with the Head of Business – IVD to align regional execution with national strategy.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Science (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Science, Genetics, Biotechnology, etc.) or related fields.
MBA, M.Sc. or advanced business qualification ( would be an added advantage).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IVD/medical diagnostics sales & business development.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets in the healthcare/diagnostics industry.
Strong network & relationship with hospitals, diagnostic centers, and government institutions.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and manage regional sales territory.
Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office, and sales reporting.
