We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: IT Officer 

Location: Wuse 2, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cloud-based and on-premise systems.
• Assist in the design, deployment, and management of scalable, secure cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, or similar).
• Develop and maintain modern web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and frameworks such as React, Next.js, or Angular.
• Automate routine tasks and cloud resource management using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration and deployment needs.
• Maintain and monitor virtualized and containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ensure secure and efficient API integrations and basic database interactions (SQL and NoSQL).
• Uphold data security, privacy standards, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
• Contribute to ongoing IT projects and initiatives to improve infrastructure reliability and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or similar roles with emphasis on cloud technologies and web development.
• Web Development Experience
• Solid understanding of network fundamentals and protocols.
• Working knowledge of cloud architectures, services, and best practices.
• Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience managing and deploying web applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar).
• Basic understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and API integrations.
• Experience with scripting languages for automation and infrastructure management.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams.
• High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and discretion with sensitive information.
• Fluency in both Maltese and English is required.
• Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator) are considered a plus.
• Prior experience in a credit institution or financial services sector is an asset.
