Give Girls A Chance is an organization dedicated to increasing young girls' access to quality education in Nigeria. We work directly with students in four secondary schools in the Abuja area, providing comprehensive support to girls between the ages of 10 and 19 years from low-income families. With a team of dedicated mentors and volunteers, we provide scholarships, mentorships, and guidance, and address issues related to lack of access, low levels of awareness of the importance of education, and poor infrastructure of educational institutions.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Program Manager

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time

General Position Summary

  • As the Program Manager at GGAC, you will be at the forefront of driving impactful change through program management, partnership building, advocacy, and, most importantly, fundraising.
  • We are seeking an individual who is not only passionate about our mission but is also eager to learn and grow, resourceful, and proactive.
  • This role requires someone who can take the initiative, is comfortable knocking on doors to fundraise, and possesses the ability to shine in the spotlight while effectively managing people.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Program Management:

  • Oversee and lead GGAC's flagship programs, including the Scholarship & Mentoring Program, Family & Community Engagement Program, and School Improvement Program.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality interventions within these programs, contributing to a robust evidence base that strengthens GGAC's reputation.

Fundraising:

  • Play a pivotal role in identifying and seizing key fundraising opportunities to drive program expansion across Nigeria.
  • Develop and lead the implementation of GGAC's fundraising strategy, creating a pipeline for potential grant applications and engaging with donors locally and internationally.
  • Actively participate in knocking on doors, cultivating relationships, and securing financial support to fuel GGAC's mission.

Partnership Building and Advocacy:

  • Engage with NGOs and CSOs in the education/child development space to identify collaboration and partnership opportunities.
  • Represent GGAC effectively to key stakeholders, donors, and policy makers, advocating for our model and approaches.

Team Management:

  • Comfortably manage and lead a team, ensuring effective communication and coordination between stakeholders, partners, and the project donor.
  • Lead a scaling strategy and drive program expansion, including scoping out potential partner schools, meeting with school boards, and identifying program coordinators.
  • Lead volunteer management, keeping lists updated and ensuring volunteers remain active and engaged.

Advocacy:

  • Actively promote GGAC's work and results through various channels, including events and on social media.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Passion for the mission of Give Girls A Chance and a commitment to empowering girls through education.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively convey complex information.
  • Flexibility and creativity in adapting to different tasks and responsibilities within a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Open to candidates with varying levels of experience, including those with little to no prior experience, as long as there is a strong willingness to learn and contribute.
  • An interest in program management, partnership building, advocacy, and fundraising, with a genuine enthusiasm for making a positive impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and apply new concepts, coupled with a proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving.
  • An eagerness to take on new challenges, learn from experiences, and contribute to the growth of GGAC's initiatives.

Remuneration

  • Salary: The salary range for this role is N150,000 - N200,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
