Job Title: Workshop Manager / Service Advisor

Location: Okota / Isolo - Lagos
Reports to: Managing Director

Job Summary

• The Workshop Manager / Service Advisor will oversee all daily operations of the automotive workshop, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality repairs, excellent customer service, and full adherence to RYDABAY’s technical standards.
• This individual must possess strong diagnostic and mechanical expertise, with the ability to guide technicians, communicate effectively with customers, and manage service delivery from vehicle intake to final handover.

Key Responsibilities
Workshop Operations & Management:

• Supervise and coordinate all workshop activities including diagnostics, repairs, servicing, and quality control.
• Allocate jobs to technicians based on skill level and workload capacity.
• Ensure that all work is completed on schedule, within cost, and to RYDABAY’s quality standards.
• Monitor the use and condition of workshop tools, lifts, and equipment.
• Enforce safety, cleanliness, and discipline within the workshop environment.

Customer Service & Communication:

• Serve as the main point of contact for customers — from job intake to vehicle delivery.
• Listen to client complaints or service requests, record accurate vehicle issues, and communicate repair solutions clearly.
• Provide job estimates, obtain approvals, and maintain transparency in pricing and progress updates.
• Deliver vehicles post-service, ensuring customer satisfaction and resolving any post-repair concerns.

Diagnostics & Technical Support:

• Perform advanced diagnostics using digital and manual tools to identify complex mechanical or electrical faults.
• Guide and mentor technicians on proper repair techniques and troubleshooting processes.
• Test and validate completed repairs before vehicle release.
• Recommend necessary preventive maintenance to customers.

Administration & Reporting:

• Maintain job cards, service records, and parts usage logs accurately in the workshop management system.
• Prepare daily and weekly workshop performance reports (job completion, parts usage, revenue, etc.).
• Coordinate with the accounting team on billing, job costing, and warranty claims.
• Support procurement of parts and consumables to ensure workshop readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of OND / HND / B.Eng in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent trade certification).
• Minimum 5 years hands-on workshop experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or service advisor role.
• Proven skill in vehicle diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and workshop supervision.
• Proficiency with diagnostic scanners and workshop management software.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and customer handling skills.
• Strong integrity, time management, and attention to detail.
