We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: NYSC Accountant

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: NYSC

Key Objectives as Support Role

• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Maintain compliance with cooperative financial regulations and accounting standards.

Core Responsibilities
General Ledger Management:

• Record and post journal entries for all financial transactions.
• Analyze and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.

Reconciliations:

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
• Reconcile bank statements with ledger entries.

Financial Reporting:

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.

Compliance & Controls:

• Maintain organized records and supporting documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Familiarity with inventory systems, insurance accounting, and event budgeting
• Must be a graduate Accountant
• Must have at least 10 months remaining in their NYSC program
• Must be serving in Lagos State.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting
• Ability to learn GL reconciliation processes
• Ability to learn advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, financial modelling)
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
