Federal College of Education, Gidan Madi (FCEGM) was established in 2019 by Federal Government of Nigeria. The College is located in the ancient city of Gidan Madi, Tangaza Local Governmnt and Its Motto is "Learning for Self Relience". The college is committed to the production of teachers with the intellectual and professional background adequate for their assignment and to make them adaptable to any changing situation not only in the life of their country but also in the world.

The Governing Council of the Federal College of Education, Gidan Madi, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Bursar

Location Gidan, Madi, Sokoto

Job Detail

• The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the College and is responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the College.

Duties

• The candidate for the position is expected to, among other responsibilities, plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the operations of the financial system of the College.
• He is expected to perform any other functions which the Council or Provost may so direct.

Qualifications
The candidate for the post of the Bursar must possess the following:

• A good Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalent in Accountancy or Finance, from a recognized institution of higher learning;
• Must possess a relevant Master's degree from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least eighteen (18) years of cognate work experience.
• Must be a member of a recognized Professional body in the relevant field;
• Must have been a Deputy Bursar on CONTEDIS 15;
• Evidence of continuous mandatory professional development;
• Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT); and the Successful candidate must not be above the age of fifty-nine (59) years at the time of taking up the appointment.

Vision and Mission Statement

• The candidate must submit, in clear terms, in not more than two (2) pages, his/her Vision and Mission statement for the College in the next 5 years.

Tenure of Appointment

• The appointment of the Bursar is for a single term of five (5) years only, beginning from the effective date of appointment.

Salary

• Consolidated salary for Bursar of the Federal Colleges of Education will be applicable.

Condition of Service

• The successful candidates will be entitled to the privileges and benefits of Principal Officers as specified in the terms and conditions of service for Staff of Federal Colleges of Education in Nigeria and other conditions which may be approved from time to time by the Governing Council of the College in accordance with the Colleges of Education Act, and in consultation with the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE).
