Job Title: Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the Construction of a Handpump Borehole
WACHEF with funding from ActionAid Nigeria under the Local Rights Programme (LRP), invites reputable and qualified contractors to submit quotations for the construction of a handpump borehole at Nyaladi Shambung Community, Yorro Local Government Area, Taraba State, in accordance with the terms and specifications outlined below.
Scope of Work
The project involves the sitting, drilling, installation, and finishing of a handpump borehole to provide safe and sustainable water access for the community.
The work will include:
Hydrogeological survey and site selection
Drilling and casing of borehole
Installation of handpump
Construction of a concrete platform, drainage channel, and aprons
Water quality testing
Painting, finishing, and site clean-up
A Detailed Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and technical specifications are attached to this call for quotation.
Eligibility Requirements
All interested contractors must include the following documents in their submissions:
Evidence of Company Registration (CAC Certificate)
Valid Tax Identification Number (TIN) and Tax Clearance Certificate for the last three (3) years
Evidence of similar borehole or water project works executed within the past three (3) years (attach copies of award or completion certificates)
Evidence of ownership or access to drilling rig and related equipment
The firm must have a registered office in Taraba State or demonstrate verifiable experience working in rural communities of Taraba State
Evaluation Criteria
All submissions will be evaluated based on the following:
Compliance with technical specifications and BoQ
Cost reasonableness and value for money
Experience and technical capacity of the firm
Availability of appropriate equipment
Proposed implementation timeline
Only contractors who meet the technical and financial criteria will be contacted.
Project Duration:
The construction of the handpump borehole must be completed within twenty-one (21) days from the date of contract signing.
Payment Terms
Payment will be made in two stages:
50% upon contract signing and mobilization to site
50% upon satisfactory completion, inspection, and certification by WACHEF.
All payments will be processed within seven (7) working days after meeting the specified conditions.
Standards and Inspection:
All work must adhere strictly to the technical specifications and standards for rural water supply systems.
WACHEF reserves the right to inspect, verify, and reject substandard work at any stage of the project.
Contract Award and Termination
The successful contractor will be notified in writing via email.
WACHEF reserves the right to terminate the contract if the contractor fails to meet the agreed quality or timeline.
