Festival Hotel is a 4 star first class hotel with 471 rooms made up of classic, deluxe rooms and suites. The hotel is located in an expansive ground in a fantastic location with a serene atmosphere as well as a safe and secure environment. It offers facilities such as adult and children swimming pool, exotic tropicalised garden, conferencing and private function facilities, modern and well equipped table tennis and twin state of art squash court, well equipped state of art gym, jogging tracks, sauna and steam bath facilities. It has an expansive car park,excellent food and bevrage facilities with 2 restaurants offering local and international cuisine, in housing laundry and dry cleaning facilities, exotic art stands and an in house clinic. It also has gifts shops,a shopping mall and a cinema in the premises.
Directly supervise all housekeeping and laundry staff, including room attendants, public area attendants, laundry personnel, and floor supervisors.
Plan and organize daily cleaning schedules and staff duty rosters.
Ensure all team members are trained, motivated, and adhere to the hotel’s service and grooming standards.
Conduct regular briefings, performance evaluations, and coaching sessions.
Operational Management:
Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness in all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
Inspect rooms and public spaces regularly to ensure they meet the hotel’s quality and brand standards.
Coordinate with the Front Office and Maintenance departments for room readiness, repair needs, and maintenance schedules.
Manage the lost and found system effectively.
Inventory and Cost Control:
Maintain accurate records of linen, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities.
Monitor and control departmental budgets, expenses, and cost efficiency.
Prepare purchase requisitions and ensure cost-effective procurement of cleaning materials, chemicals, and guest supplies.
Implement effective linen and supply usage control to minimize waste.
Standards and Compliance:
Establish, implement, and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all housekeeping operations.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards (including local regulations and brand guidelines).
Conduct regular audits and inspections for quality assurance.
Ensure environmentally friendly cleaning practices are followed (e.g., sustainability, waste segregation, energy conservation).
Guest Satisfaction and Service Quality:
Ensure guest rooms and public areas consistently meet or exceed cleanliness and presentation standards.
Respond promptly to guest requests, feedback, and complaints regarding housekeeping services.
Work closely with the Front Office to manage VIP arrivals, special requests, and room preferences.
Enhance the guest experience through attention to detail and high service quality.
Staff Training and Development:
Develop and deliver continuous training programs on cleaning techniques, guest interaction, safety, and use of equipment.
Identify skill gaps and organize refresher training sessions to maintain service excellence.
Promote teamwork, discipline, and professional development within the department.
Coordination and Reporting:
Liaise daily with the General Manager, Front Office, Engineering, and Food & Beverage departments to ensure seamless hotel operations.
Prepare and submit periodic reports such as housekeeping performance, occupancy-related room status, and maintenance issues.
Participate in departmental head meetings and contribute to overall hotel management decisions.
Safety, Maintenance, and Asset Care:
Ensure proper handling and maintenance of cleaning equipment and machinery.
Conduct fire, safety, and emergency procedure training for housekeeping staff.
Ensure proper storage and labeling of cleaning chemicals to prevent accidents.
Oversee pest control programs and hygiene standards in guest and staff areas.
Administration and Record-Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, leave schedules, and payroll inputs.
Keep up-to-date inventories of uniforms, linens, and cleaning supplies.
Manage departmental filing systems and documentation related to safety and compliance.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
Recommend new cleaning products, techniques, or technologies to enhance efficiency.
Implement sustainability initiatives such as water and energy conservation programs.
Continuously review feedback and operational reports to improve service delivery.
Requirements
