Job Summary
The Accountant Officer will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and ensure timely submission to the finance manager.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations, including tax laws, audit requirements, and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
Assist in the development and monitoring of the company's budget, and provide regular reports on budget variances and financial performance.
Manage the company's cash flow, including cash receipts, disbursements, and reconciliations.
Manage vendor relationships, including verifying invoices and processing payments in accordance with established procedures.
Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules, responding to audit queries, and implementing audit recommendations.
Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting and record-keeping activities.
Key Performance Indicators
Accuracy and Timeliness of Financial Records: Ensure financial records are accurate and up- to-date, and reports are submitted to the finance manager in a timely manner.
Compliance with Accounting Policies and Regulations: Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations, including tax laws, audit requirements, and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
Budget Management: Assist in the development and monitoring of the company's budget, and provide regular reports on budget variances and financial performance.
Cash Flow Management: Ensure adequate management of the company's cash flow, including cash receipts, disbursements, and reconciliations.
Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, including verifying invoices and processing payments in accordance with established procedures.
Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules, responding to audit queries, and implementing audit recommendations.
Process Improvement: Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting and record-keeping activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification in Accounting (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
At least 3 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
Knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and tax laws in Nigeria.
Proximity to VGC, Lagos State.
Salary
N180,000 - N220,000 monthly.
