Job Description
Responsible for the design and architecture and implementation of products from conceptual
stage to product launch.
Shall be responsible for the commercial life cycle management of products.
Principal Accountabilities / Objectives
Testing of concept with potential target markets
Market testing to access the responsiveness and acceptance of the market to new product
Full commercial launch of new products into market for early adopters
Manage complete life cycles of the product line
Realization of product Business Plan and Business Case objectives
Competitive landscape and market potential continuous scanning
Serve as the primary resource centre for all product related information
Market testing to continually access the responsiveness and acceptance of the market to products
Assist to drive the new product development process and manage the evolution of products through their life cycles
Development and execution of product launch plans and forecasting
Define and execute the acceptance criteria for Proof of Concepts
Work with Core Engineering to identify and drive the adoption of new technologies for optimizing existing products/services
Development and update of sales tools such as product pricing, product presentations, service order forms, customer contracts
Generate monthly and periodic reports that track the product operational and commercial performance at various stages of the life cycle as against the business plan.
Identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
Develop product pricing and positioning and proposition strategies and translate these strategies into detailed product requirements.
Analyzing partner relationships for products and provide input into periodic products roadmap and overall marketing plans
Liaise with Product Marketing to help revise marketing collateral such as brochures, website, product descriptions, new press releases and assist in coordinating public marketing campaigns
Provide pre-sales product support to Solutions Architects in the development of customer proposals, bespoke solutions, bids and major tenders
Provide product support to the sales team pre and post launch via training, target customer meetings.
Conduct research on current trends and monitor related developments in the telecommunications industry
Provide an updated documentation library of all product materials for archiving
Perform other job related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competency requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an Engineering discipline
Experience
3 - 5 years’ experience in Telecommunications or ICT environment
3 - 5 years’ experience in Product development and management
Prior experience in work group activities
Multitasking abilities, being able to take on several projects across several work streams
Effective communications and writing skills
Effective presentation skills
Ability to take ownership by influencing superiors
Working and relating with peers excellently.
