Key Responsibilities

• Write compelling, informative, and engaging articles, posts, and other web content that aligns with News Central's mission.
• Adapt writing style to suit the online platform and target audience, ensuring content is optimised for search engines and social sharing.
• Stay abreast of current events, breaking news, and industry trends to provide timely and relevant content for the News Central website.
• Conduct research to ensure accuracy, credibility, and depth in news coverage.
• Manage and update content on the News Central website, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with editorial guidelines.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to curate content that reflects News Central's unique voice and values.
• Implement SEO best practices to enhance the visibility and ranking of News Central's content on search engines
• Analyse SEO performance and make data-driven recommendations for content improvement.

Person Specification

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a web content writer and editor, preferably within a news or digital media environment.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to adapt to different writing styles and tones.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices and content management systems (WordPress, etc.).
• A passion for news, storytelling, and the ability to generate fresh perspectives on current events.
• Experience with analytics tools and content optimisation strategies is a plus.
