Job Summary
The Warehouse Manager in Ibadan will be responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations to ensure the efficient and accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
The ideal candidate is a proactive and experienced leader with a proven track record of managing warehouse teams, optimizing inventory, and maintaining high safety standards.
This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the daily activities of the warehouse, including receiving, sorting, storage, and dispatch of products.
Lead, motivate, train, and manage a team of warehouse staff, ensuring optimal performance and productivity.
Implement and enforce operational policies and procedures to guarantee efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company standards.
Manage inventory control by conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling stock records, and investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize efficiency.
Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and security procedures within the warehouse, protecting both employees and company assets.
Oversee logistics for both inbound and outbound shipments, coordinating with suppliers and transporters to ensure timely deliveries and distribution.
Maintain accurate warehouse documentation and generate regular reports on inventory levels, stock movement, and operational costs.
Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other inventory software to track and report on warehouse activities.
Conduct performance reviews for warehouse staff and identify opportunities for professional development.
Address operational issues promptly and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse performance.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education: Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in warehouse management or a similar managerial role. Experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or retail industry is an added advantage.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Strong understanding of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills:
Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and mentor a team effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
A high level of integrity, dependability, and attention to detail.
