Job Title: Fleet & Logistics Coordinator, North
Location: Abuja
The Role
With the expansion in the organisation’s operations, there is a need to strengthen the fleet and logistics system by the introduction of the Fleet and Logistics coordinators.
This position will provide leadership and oversight in the Fleet and Logistics unit focusing on assigned regions and ensuring in-depth reconciliation of vehicle usage, comprehensive fleet data analysis, and the effective management of vehicle lease and driver outsource arrangements.
The role is also responsible for ensuring that goods are distributed using the most cost-efficient method while providing strategic direction and operational efficiency in fleet and logistics management.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure regular housekeeping so that essential data dependencies are maintained (fleet assets Masterfile, people profiles, recipients for alert notifications, driver magnetic ID tag allocations) etc.
Oversee daily vehicle tracking and the management of fleet operations.
Ensure monthly fleet data drilling down of all vehicles in fleet for informed decision-making.
Monitor and review daily fuel consumption via MY TOTAL PLATFORM.
Conduct quarterly fleet assessments and recommend improvements.
Lead in managing the distribution of commodities, consumables, and other goods across the assigned region.
Ensure timely updating and circulation of dispatch trackers.
Monitor and track generator diesel consumption.
Work with HR Business partner to manage outsourced driver arrangements and monitor performance.
Supervise and follow up on vehicle repairs and maintenance to ensure standards are met.
Promote the use of the organisation’s approved software as a primary tool for managing fleet and reduce duplication of effort.
Work with the Director, Operations to develop and implement fleet and logistics policies, procedures, and performance benchmarks. Provide coaching, mentoring, and capacity building to team members within the Fleet and Logistics unit.
Key Qualification, Experience & Skills
6 years post-NYSC full-time professional-level experience in Fleet and Logistics management, with at least 3 years in supervisory role.
Proven experience in the use of vehicle tracking and fleet management systems.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics Management, Commerce, or Business Administration.
Strong knowledge and experience in health/medical or INGO organisations, with experience in donor-funded programmes.
Advanced knowledge of ERP packages (Tally or equivalent), MS Office programs, and professional certification in view.
Demonstrated expertise in Fleet and Logistics management, strategy development, and implementation.
Excellent leadership, team management, and people development skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to inspire, manage, and motivate teams to achieve set targets.
Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills with proven ability to resolve operational challenges.
Good understanding of general and specific company and commercial law as it applies to fleet and logistics operations.
Excellent drafting, policy development, and document review skills.
Strong judgment, decision-making ability, and initiative.
Proven ability to effectively juggle competing priorities and deliver results under pressure.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to interact effectively with internal teams, senior executives, external stakeholders, and third parties.
Strong ability to think strategically, creatively, and innovatively in problem-solving and decision-making.
High professionalism, self-motivation, efficiency, and results-oriented delivery on short timelines.
Ability to interact effectively with business and technical clients in a fast-paced environment.
