Job Title: Technical Superintendent (Maritime)

Job Description
Are you a qualified and competent Technical Superintendent looking for a new Challenge in a Maritime Environment
You will manage and execute running ‘day-to-day’ Maintenance and Repair (M&R) activities of vessels assigned to you within time-frame and budget as set, in order to maintain technical reliability and maximize utilization of the fleet.
Reports to the Regional Fleet Manager.
Responsibiltiies
Coordinates and execute ‘day-to-day’ running maintenance activities (mainly preventive) onboard the vessels to maintain technical reliability of vessels and prevent downtime/off-hire.
Monitor and follow up on planned maintenance system (PMS) of vessels in MARAD (PMS Software), Ensure repair jobs are created and updated when necessary with close out jobs effected in MARAD.
Supervise, Coach and instruct Chief Engineers onboard the vessels to ensure technical management onboard is in line with company expectation
Undertake periodic Vessel inspection in line with Company management system (SLIMS) and Planned maintenance system (MARAD), Function test machinery onboard to decipher technical status, compile reports of all defects/issues observed during such inspection & report status to Regional Fleet Manager (RFM) and Contract Manager (CM), Make plans to close out all identified defects.
Investigate and analyze root cause of technical/machinery defects, implement timely corrective and preventive actions, in consultation with the Regional Fleet Manager
Arrange statutory surveys with Classification society & Flag state (NIMASA). Ensure vessel technical readiness for other inspections from client i.e. OVID, SUPO, MAR 7, Pre-hire Inspection etc.
Supervise and evaluate activities and performance of third-party contractors/vendors when they visit vessels offshore and when in port.
Ensure vessels raise applicable requisitions in line with M&R and Reported or Noticeable Defects. Work with procurement and other stakeholders for timely delivery of such requisitions.
Guides crew on board the vessels to ensure Company standard are met and work is done as per guidelines and specifications.
Ensures full compliance of vessel certifications according to statutory and Class requirements.
Updates and maintains the repair lists in MARAD of assigned vessels based on outcome of surveys and running M&R activities.
Check and control monthly inputs in SLDox. (Document Archive)
Ensure changes to the vessel equipment are managed, in close cooperation with the CM and RFM, through authorized and approved Management of Change (MOC).
Ensure MARAD and SLDox are updated as at when required
Actively promotes Safety Health Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) awareness and monitors performance to ensure safety standards and safe working practices /leads ‘by example’.
Work in close cooperation with the Contract Manager or his designate as regards vessel reliability. Hence promoting operational integrity of asset and smooth running of Contract.
Gain the cooperation of vessel Captains and Chief Engineers for operational transparency, timely reporting of defects and general asset integrity of vessels
Prepares and control the yearly Running M&R budget in close cooperation with the RFM.
Prepares 6 monthly appraisals for Chief Engineers on assigned Vessels
Follows and implement Safety Management System (SLIMS) on assigned vessels
Required to join Company in house competency training to train and educate crew.
