Key Roles & Responsibilities
Distribution Planning and Execution:
Daily CORE pre-planning handshake and integration with Planning and Expediting teams.
Submit daily fleet availability list to CORE planning team before planning commences.
Provide updates on truck tracking and intermittent reporting to BU and Zone per MCRS requirements.
Track and escalate order execution issues.
Manage daily delivery capacity and expected volume forecast.
Update and review KPIs and PIs, facilitating problem solving where required.
Manage time and attendance for OWN drivers.
Manage 3PL and dedicated transporters to ensure adherence to delivery plan execution.
Verify daily 3rd party shipment documentation for payment authorization.
Implement and sustain VPO/DPO practices.
Compile daily reports, communicate performance targets, and take corrective actions where needed.
Monitor and record safety compliance.
Maintain daily communication with the warehouse to ensure seamless loading and dispatch.
Ensure full compliance with SCL (Supervisor Checklists).
Conduct daily driver debriefing sessions.
Execute SAP transactions for vehicle dispatching and manage master data updates daily.
Investigate driver shortages, breakages, and incidents daily.
Engage customers and conduct trade visits.
Manage 3PL contractors and modulate refusals.
Manage driver scorecards daily and address safety non-compliance issues.
Control Distribution Performance:
Control and monitor delivery schedules.
Assure product quality and customer satisfaction.
Analyze and respond to distribution performance metrics.
Leverage customer relationships to drive service improvements.
Monitor and optimize fleet availability and utilization.
Support the Sales function through reliable execution.
Ensure full adherence to delivery plans and targets.
Administration and Reporting:
Apply and monitor administrative systems and procedures.
Leverage information systems and digital tools for delivery management.
Verify completed shipments daily.
Manage diesel reconciliations for both OWN and 3rd-party drivers.
Measure and track fuel consumption.
Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE):
Ensure adherence to safety and housekeeping standards.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Enforce road transport safety compliance, focusing on driver working hours and adherence to speed limits.
Team Leadership and Performance Optimization:
Facilitate effective team dynamics and communication.
Implement performance management systems for direct reports.
Conduct one-on-one performance reviews with drivers.
Execute OWDs and audits regularly.
Develop and train employees to enhance performance and accountability.
Ensure adherence to POC/Route Visit plans and customer engagement routines.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of B.Sc., B.Tech., or HND in a related field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain operations.
