We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Sales Development Manager

Location: Isolo Lagos, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports to: Business Head

About the Role

  • We are seeking an ambitious and performance-driven Sales Development Manager (SDM) to drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and deliver on divisional performance goals.
  • The SDM will focus on lead generation, pipeline conversion, and strategic account management across major FMCG, telecom, and corporate clients.
  • You’ll lead front-end business development efforts — ensuring every client engagement aligns with the company’s growth objectives and performance framework.

Core Purpose

  • To build and manage a high-performing sales pipeline that consistently converts opportunities into profitable business while achieving revenue, gross profit, and client satisfaction targets.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Pipeline Management:

  • Identify, qualify, and nurture new business opportunities across target sectors (FMCG, Oil & Gas, Telecoms, Banking, Manufacturing, etc.).
  • Develop and execute tailored sales strategies per client segment to deepen market penetration.
  • Maintain accurate client engagement records in the CRM for reporting and forecasting.
  • Proactively manage deal progression — tracking leads, proposals, sample approvals, and purchase orders.
  • Support tender submissions, vendor registrations, and client onboarding.

Sales Execution & Closure Support:

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Procurement, Finance, Logistics) to ensure proposals are cost-effective and feasible.
  • Lead client presentations, pitch sessions, and negotiation meetings.
  • Track post-sales performance to ensure repeat business and client retention.

Team Coordination & Performance:

  • Coach and guide Sales Executives and Account Officers for performance improvement.
  • Monitor team activities using agreed KPIs and performance scorecards.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and ownership across the sales team.

Market Intelligence & Strategy:

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing dynamics in the promotional and POSM space.
  • Identify new product categories, sourcing opportunities, and promotional innovations.
  • Provide monthly insights to management on market opportunities and client engagement strategies.

Reporting & Performance Tracking:

  • Submit timely performance reports and business tracker updates.
  • Track key sales metrics including pipeline value, conversion rates, gross profit margins, and client activity.
  • Participate in regular performance reviews with leadership.

  • Monthly Revenue Achievement vs. Target

  • Number of Qualified Leads & Conversions
  • Client Retention / Repeat Business Ratio
  • Accuracy and Timeliness of Reports

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in B2B sales, promotional merchandise, POSM, or brand activation.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, vendor registration, and tender processes.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (Zoho CRM or similar).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong multitasking ability with experience managing multiple client accounts.
