Job Summary
Our client is seeking a passionate and results-driven Group Head, Accounts to head her Accounts team.
The Group Head, Accounts will oversee the financial health of the organization by providing strategic leadership in financial planning, reporting, control, and performance management across the group.
This role requires a dynamic finance professional with deep industry knowledge, analytical acumen, and proven experience in managing complex financial operations in a multi-entity oil and gas servicing environment. This role is based in Lagos.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Group Finance and Accounts function.
Develop and implement robust financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Oversee the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the group and its subsidiaries.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
Manage cash flow, treasury operations, and capital allocation to optimize financial performance.
Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Provide insightful financial analysis and business intelligence to support strategic decision-making by executive management.
Supervise the preparation of management reports, financial projections, and variance analyses.
Oversee tax planning, statutory compliance, and cost optimization initiatives across business units.
Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Master’s Degree (MBA or equivalent) in Finance or Business Administration is an added advantage.
Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CPA is mandatory.
9–15 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the oil and gas or energy sector.
Proven experience managing multi-entity group accounts and complex financial structures.
