Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Lagos
Background
To drive growth and deepen our farmer and customer base, we seek to engage a dynamic Business Development Manager to lead customer and farmer development initiatives, build partnerships, and strengthen financing opportunities across the poultry value chain.
Purpose of the Role
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for expanding natnudO Foods’ commercial reach by:
Developing customer development strategies for chicken sales.
Strengthening and expanding the natnuPreneur farmer scheme, focusing on sustainable live bird sourcing for the processing plants.
Building strategic partnerships with state governments, NGOs, and financial institutions to facilitate financing, investment, and support services for farmers and supply chain actors.
Promoting the business model of natnudO Foods and driving visibility across all processing locations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute regional and national sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
Create natnuPreneur farmer network around the four processing plants by identifying and onboarding capable poultry farmers.
Work with natnuPreneur technical team to design and promote inclusive business models that ensure mutual profitability between natnudO Foods and participating farmers.
Work with the production and technical teams to ensure farmer readiness, input availability, and market linkage efficiency.
Establish strategic relationships with state governments, development partners, NGOs, and financial institutions to unlock financing opportunities for farmers (fixed assets and working capital).
Develop project proposals and partnership frameworks to attract funding or technical support for the outgrower program.
Engage with agribusiness financing programs, impact investors, and donor-funded value chain initiatives to leverage resources for farmer empowerment.
Represent natnudO Foods in relevant industry meetings, summits, and project consortia.
Key Deliverables
Growth in institutional and retail customer base.
Increased volume of live bird supply through natnuPreneur farmers.
Partnership agreements or MoUs signed with government or financial partners.
Approved financing schemes supporting farmers’ asset or working capital needs.
Regular progress reports and business development dashboards.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
Master’s degree or MBA will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in agribusiness, livestock, or poultry value chain management.
Proven experience in business development, project management, or farmer program implementation.
Strong understanding of agricultural financing mechanisms and donor/government partnership frameworks.
Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver measurable results.
