Job Title: Head of People Operations

Location: Lagos 
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Overview

  • The ideal candidate will act as a strategic advisor to leadership, ensuring that the company’s people operations support its growth, foster a high-performance culture, and maintain a robust framework for talent and organizational development.
  • This position also leads initiatives to establish scalable HR processes and a thriving workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Workforce Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive manpower strategy to meet current and future business needs.
  • Partner with leadership to identify organizational capability gaps and plan for upskilling, reskilling, or role transitions.
  • Analyze workforce data to forecast needs and make informed recommendations on staffing and resource allocation.

HR Systems and Process Optimization:

  • Design and implement HR systems and tools to improve efficiency, scalability, and employee experience.
  • Oversee the maintenance and optimization of HR technology, ensuring accurate data management and reporting.
  • Establish and refine HR processes to support seamless operations across the employee lifecycle.

Culture and Organizational Development:

  • Lead initiatives to strengthen company culture, ensuring alignment with organizational values and goals.
  • Develop strategies to foster employee engagement, inclusivity, and a sense of belonging across teams.
  • Collaborate with leadership to define and communicate the desired workplace culture and drive its adoption.

People Operations and Policy Management:

  • Oversee the full scope of employee life-cycle processes, from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring a consistent and high-quality employee experience.
  • Design and implement performance management systems that drive accountability and recognize achievements.
  • Lead efforts to establish fair and competitive compensation, benefits, and rewards programs.

Leadership Development and Succession Planning:

  • Develop and execute leadership development programs to build a pipeline of future leaders.
  • Create and implement succession planning frameworks to ensure continuity in key roles.
  • Guide senior leaders in adopting effective people management practices.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure HR policies and practices comply with all local, state, and federal labor laws.
  • Mitigate risks by proactively addressing potential employee relations issues and promoting a positive workplace environment.

Metrics and Analytics:

  • Use HR analytics and key performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of HR initiatives and make data-driven decisions.
  • Regularly report on HR metrics to leadership, providing insights on workforce trends, engagement levels, and other critical areas.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 7 - 10 years of progressive HR experience with a focus on strategic HR leadership and operations.
  • Certifications such as SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR are highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale HR initiatives in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Expertise in strategic workforce planning and HR systems implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of organizational development, culture-building, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels of the organization.
  • High adaptability to change and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in HR technology and tools, with strong familiarity in analytics and reporting.

Salary
N800,000 - N1,000,000 monthly.
