Job Title: KYC & Credit Control Officer – Modern Trade

Role Summary
The KYC & Credit Control Officer (Modern Trade) will be responsible for managing customer verification, payment reconciliation, credit monitoring, and debt recovery processes for OmniBiz’s modern trade clients.
The role ensures compliance with internal credit policies, accurate financial records, and efficient recovery of outstanding payments.
Key Responsibilities
Know Your Customer (KYC) and Onboarding:
Conduct thorough verification and documentation of all new modern trade customers.
Maintain accurate and updated customer KYC files in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Liaise with Sales and Finance teams to ensure smooth onboarding and credit setup.
Credit Management and Risk Assessment:
Evaluate customers’ creditworthiness and recommend credit limits based on analysis and business exposure.
Monitor account performance to ensure adherence to credit terms and conditions.
Identify potential credit risks and escalate where necessary.
Payment Reconciliation:
Track, record, and reconcile all customer payments and deposits.
Resolve discrepancies in payment posting, bank statements, and customer accounts.
Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure financial accuracy and timely closure of accounts.
Debt Recovery and Collections:
Follow up with customers on outstanding payments in line with agreed credit terms.
Implement effective debt recovery strategies while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Prepare aging reports and monthly collection performance dashboards.
Reporting and Compliance:
Prepare weekly and monthly credit control and reconciliation reports.
Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and regulatory requirements.
Submit daily reports on cash and credit recoverystatus to provide real-time visibility of receivables.
Support audit exercises by providing required documentation and reconciliations.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields
3 - 5 years of experience in credit control, payment reconciliation, or recovery, preferably in FMCG or modern trade environments.
Proven experience in KYC and account verification processes.
Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting tools (e.g., Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
