We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Hostel Master

Location: Owerri / Irete, Imo

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the hostel, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and orderliness.
• Maintain discipline among residents and enforce hostel rules and curfews.
• Monitor student behavior and provide guidance or counseling when needed.
• Coordinate with school/college administration on student welfare and hostel matters.
• Handle emergencies, conflicts, and grievances promptly and effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of hostel occupancy, maintenance issues, and incidents.
• Oversee hostel staff (wardens, cleaners, security) and ensure efficient service delivery.
• Organize orientation sessions and community-building activities for residents.
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms, facilities, and common areas.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Management, or related field
• Additional certifications in counseling, hostel management, or student affairs are a plus

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Empathy, patience, and a student-centered approach
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• Basic administrative and record-keeping skills
• Familiarity with hostel management software (optional)

Experience:

• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in hostel administration, student affairs, or residential life
• Prior experience working with adolescents or young adults in an educational setting is highly desirable
• Experience managing teams and handling emergencies is an advantage
