We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Lagos
Job type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Analyze revenues and expenses
• Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the school’s accounting software.
• Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliation of all school’s accounts.
• Reconcile the general ledger
• Establish and maintain supplier accounts
• Assist with financial and annual tax audit
• Assist with preparing annual tax returns and other statutory reports
• Maintain financial files and records
• Maintenance of fixed asset register
• Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal control.
• Prepare weekly reports
• Prepare status reports on school fees weekly
• Update Head of Admin on payments
• Preparation and administration of payroll by the 19 of each month.
• Remittances of statutory payments.
• Issuance of cheques
• Petty cash management
• Other assigned tasks.

Qualifications and Skills

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• Membership of ICAN or any other relevant professional certification is mandatory
• A minimum of 1-2 years cognate experience
• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Suitability to work with children.
