Job Title: Biomedical Engineer

Job Summary
The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise in the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical and laboratory equipment.
The role supports the sales and operations teams by ensuring product functionality, client satisfaction, and compliance with regulatory standards.
The position bridges the gap between engineering and clinical service delivery — ensuring that all medical devices supplied and serviced by SIXTHLAB MEDICAL NIGERIA perform efficiently, safely, and in alignment with the company’s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Installation and Maintenance:
Install, test, and commission new medical and diagnostic equipment at client sites.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on medical devices to ensure operational reliability.
Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment in line with manufacturer specifications.
Maintain accurate service logs, maintenance reports, and calibration records.
Ensure compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards and regulatory requirements.
Technical Support and Training:
Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients and internal staff.
Train healthcare professionals and clients on the correct usage and basic maintenance of supplied equipment.
Support the sales team with technical input during equipment demonstrations, tenders, and presentations.
Participate in product training sessions organized by OEM partners and apply acquired knowledge internally.
Willing and able to travel when required.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Conduct equipment performance verification and safety tests according to Biomedical standards.
Ensure that all biomedical engineering activities adhere to company and government health & safety regulations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Assist in the documentation and submission of technical reports for regulatory audits.
Inventory and Asset Management:
Maintain a technical inventory of biomedical tools, spare parts, and accessories.
Recommend procurement of spare parts and maintenance kits.
Collaborate with the warehouse and operations teams for timely delivery of equipment and consumables.
Client Relations and Support:
Liaise with hospitals, laboratories, and distributors to provide after-sales support.
Ensure prompt response to client inquiries and service calls.
Uphold Sixthlab’s reputation for reliability, professionalism, and technical excellence in all customer interactions.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical understanding of biomedical and laboratory equipment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Knowledge of safety and calibration procedures for medical devices.
Good communication and presentation skills for client training and demonstrations.
Strong teamwork and collaboration with sales and operations staff.
Analytical and documentation skills with attention to detail.
Commitment to ethical work practices and regulatory compliance.
Salary
N120,000 - N150,000 per month.
