Job Summary
The Sales Engineer – Oil & Gas Services will be accountable for driving revenue growth, achieving sales targets, and building strong client portfolios across Africa and the Middle East.
This role is primarily focused on sales execution that includes prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing deals with NOCs, IOCs, EPCs, Maritime and oilfield service companies.
In addition, the Sales Engineer will support business development by contributing to Carogas Service’s market positioning, OEM partnerships, and expansion into new regions.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Target Achievement:
Consistently deliver on monthly, quarterly and annual revenue quotas.
Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, presentations, negotiations, and contract closure.
Maximize revenue by cross-selling and upselling services to existing clients.
Lead Generation & Pipeline Management:
Identify, qualify, and nurture prospects across upstream value chains (operators, EPCs, service companies, vessel owners).
Build and maintain a predictable pipeline of opportunities across Nigeria, Angola, UAE, and other target markets.
Track leads, activities, and conversion metrics using CRM tools to maintain pipeline discipline.
Client Acquisition & Account Growth:
Establish and deepen relationships with procurement, technical, and executive stakeholders.
Serve as the primary contact for key accounts, ensuring satisfaction, renewals, and account expansion.
Secure multi-year agreements and repeat business through consistent relationship management.
Sales Presentations & Deal Negotiation:
Deliver compelling technical and commercial presentations tailored to client needs.
Lead negotiations, ensuring commercially profitable outcomes.
Collaborate with technical teams to prepare winning proposals, bids, and RFP submissions.
Strategic Business Development:
Feed sales intelligence into Carogas Energy’s market entry and pricing strategies.
Monitor industry licensing rounds, field developments, and brownfield acquisitions to identify sales triggers.
Support OEM and service partner onboarding to expand Carogas’s sales toolkit and value proposition.
Represent Carogas Energy at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to reinforce brand positioning.
Reporting & Forecasting:
Maintain accurate sales records, KPIs, and forecasts.
Provide leadership with regular updates on closed deals, pipeline status, and competitive market insights.
Use sales data to recommend tactical adjustments for higher win rates.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science, Engineering or equivalent technical degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Reservoir, Electrical, or Process Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
5 to 7 years of oil & gas sales experience with a proven record of closing deals with IOCs, NOCs, and EPCs.
Strong knowledge of upstream oilfield services, drilling and well services, and procurement processes.
Established network across Africa and the Middle East, with demonstrated access to senior decision-makers.
Excellent communication, presentation, and high-stakes negotiation skills.
Ability to travel extensively and manage multiple sales pursuits independently.
Proficiency in CRM tools, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
