Job Title: Tax & Compliance Manager

Location: Dangote Cement, Senegal

Job Description

• The Tax & Compliance Manager is responsible for the management of all tax and regulatory obligations of the company, ensuring compliance with local and international laws.
• He/she also ensures the implementation and monitoring of the internal controls necessary to ensure the transparency and reliability of financial information.
• Provides all necessary support to the CFO on tax and customs assessment files.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

• Ensure the tax compliance of the company (monthly, quarterly and annual declarations).
• Prepare, review and submit tax returns (VAT, IS, withholding tax, local taxes, etc.).
• Follow legal and regulatory developments in tax matters and anticipate their impact.
• Manage relations with tax administrations (deposits, controls, audits).
• Identify and implement tax optimization opportunities in compliance with regulations.
• Develop, implement and monitor the Finance Department’s compliance program.
• Ensure compliance with local (OHADA, SYSCOHAADA) and international (IFRS) accounting standards.
• Collaborate with the legal department and internal/external auditors on compliance topics.
• Identify the risks of non-compliance and propose corrective actions.
• Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of tax and regulatory audits.
• Provide tax and regulatory analysis to the Branch and the Group.
• Train and raise awareness among Finance teams on tax and compliance issues.
• Prepare technical notes and regular reporting on tax and regulatory risks.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

• Master in Taxation or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in taxation, audit or compliance, ideally in a large firm (Big Four) or in a multinational.
• Strong knowledge of Senegalese and/or regional tax standards (UEMOA, OHADA).
• Good control of IFRS standards and the international regulatory environment.
• Mastery of the mining code.

Skills:

• Excellent control of tax and regulatory procedures.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting systems (SAP, equivalent).
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex legal and tax texts.
• Strong skills in reporting and writing technical notes.
• Rigor, integrity and a sense of confidentiality.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Team spirit and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

HSE skills related to the position:

• Know how to use firefighting means;
• Know the danger pictograms;
• Know how to dispense first aid gestures;
• Know the OHS risks related to its activities as well as the control provisions;
• Know the environmental aspects and impacts related to its activities as well as the provisions of control;
• Know the right gestures and postures related to the handling of loads;
• Know the provisions on waste management.
