Job Title: Assistant Terminal Port Manager

Location: Apapa, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Port Terminal Branch Manager in planning, directing, and overseeing all port branch operations.
• Supervise daily loading, unloading, storage, and cargo handling activities to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency.
• Coordinate container and cargo clearing processes, ensuring full compliance with customs and port regulations.
• Serve as a liaison between customs officials, terminal port operators, and shipping agents to facilitate cargo movement.
• Monitor operational performance and report issues, delays, or compliance concerns to the Branch Manager.
• Ensure all staff adhere to safety standards, company policies, and operational procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of cargo movements, documentation, and inventory.
• Support the preparation of operational and financial reports for management review.
• Participate in staff training, supervision, and performance evaluation.
• Represent the branch in the absence of the Port Terminal Branch Manager when required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in port terminal operations, logistics, or port terminal supervision.
• Proven experience in cargo handling and customs clearing processes.
• Strong knowledge of port regulations, terminal port operations, and maritime logistics.
• Good communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple teams and meet operational deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office and logistics management software.
