Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Accountant for the Olive Prime Tourmaline Centre in Lekki, Lagos.
As the Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day finance and accounts operations of our mental health and drug rehabilitation
Responsibilities
Financial Management:
Oversee and manage all accounting functions within the hospital, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all financial records.
Maintain and reconcile petty cash, prepare daily and weekly reports, and ensure proper documentation for all expenditures.
Generate and send weekly billing emails to clients and ensure prompt payments in line with the zero-debt policy.
Manage inpatient billing processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely invoicing.
Handle budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring all expenditures align with approved budgets.
Prepare and submit discount reports and other financial summaries as required.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and submit accurate monthly financial statements, cash flow summaries, and management reports.
Monitor revenues and expenditures to identify variances and ensure spending aligns with operational targets.
Conduct periodic reconciliations of bank, vendor, and client accounts.
Support forecasting and provide financial insights to aid decision-making.
Accounting Operations (QuickBooks):
Ensure 100% use of QuickBooks for all financial transactions and reporting.
Record all payments, receipts, invoices, and journal entries accurately.
Generate reports directly from QuickBooks for internal and management use.
Maintain proper audit trails and ensure all financial data is up to date and accurate.
Cost and Compliance Oversight:
Ensure all spending is within approved budgets and in compliance with financial policies.
Verify repairs, maintenance, and other operational activities before vendor payments are approved.
Enforce the hospital’s zero-debt policy by closely tracking receivables and ensuring no overdue accounts.
Review and approve payment vouchers and support documents in line with internal control policies.
Audit and Record Management:
Maintain complete and organized records for all financial transactions, clients, suppliers, and banks.
Support both internal and external audit exercises by providing accurate documentation.
Conduct monthly reviews of advance payments and outstanding balances to assess risk exposure.
Prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and closing reports at the end of each accounting period.
Policy and Process Improvement:
Contribute to the development and implementation of finance and accounting policies and procedures.
Recommend and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and financial accountability.
Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
Other Duties:
Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Medical Director or Senior Accountant.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of 3 years related experience
Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable.
Ability to Commute to Lekki (Required)
Proven experience in financial management, accounting, and reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Knowledge of relevant accounting software and tools.
Salary Range
N180,000 - N250,000 / Month (Depending on experience).
