Job Title: Head of Procurement
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Part-time
Responsibilities
Develop and implement supply chain and procurement strategies aligned with business and production goals.
Lead the procurement of raw materials, plant spares, and engineering components required for ASU, CO₂, and DA plants.
Oversee vendor sourcing, negotiation, onboarding, and performance management.
Manage inventory planning, warehousing, and logistics to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery.
Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Sales and other departments to forecast and manage material requirements.
Drive process automation and efficiency improvements within the procurement and supply chain functions.
Ensure full compliance with company policies, internal control frameworks, and relevant procurement regulations.
Lead, mentor, and develop the Supply Chain & Procurement team to achieve departmental KPIs and organizational objectives.
Generate and present periodic procurement reports, market analyses, and performance dashboards to management for informed decision-making.
Develop and implement strategic procurement policies and processes to ensure timely, cost-efficient, and high-quality sourcing of materials and services.
Oversee supplier evaluation, selection, and relationship management to ensure optimal performance and alignment with business objectives.
Lead negotiations of major contracts, ensuring favorable commercial terms and strict compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
Monitor procurement budgets, track cost savings, and ensure adherence to approved financial and operational targets.
Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and other departments to forecast material requirements and align procurement plans with business priorities.
Ensure compliance with all legal, statutory, and corporate governance requirements, including customs, import/export, and trade regulations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function to enhance transparency, efficiency, and supplier performance.
Requirements
B.Sc. / HND in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline; a Master’s Degree or MBA is an added advantage.
A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role within procurement or supply chain, preferably in an industrial, process, or manufacturing company.
Professional certification in Procurement/Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS, NIPSM, ISM) required.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills.
Sound understanding of import/export regulations, customs procedures, and supplier performance management.
Proven track record in sourcing and procuring engineering parts, mechanical spares, and plant equipment.
Demonstrated experience in local vendor development, logistics coordination, and cost optimization.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAGE, SAP) and Microsoft Office tools.
