Reason for the Opening:
As Cutstruct expands into new markets and deepens its impact across the construction finance value chain, the Founders are creating this role to drive data-backed strategy, institutional growth, and long-term sustainability.
The Head of Business Strategy will lead the function responsible for turning research and analytics into actionable business intelligence that powers product design, funding strategies, and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Market & Industry Research:
Conduct in-depth research on Africa’s housing and infrastructure finance ecosystem.
Track macroeconomic, policy, and regulatory developments affecting construction finance.
Benchmark industry practices and develop insight reports that inform company strategy.
Data Analytics & Insight Generation:
Collect, clean, and analyze internal and external datasets related to construction, real estate, and finance.
Build financial models and interactive dashboards (Power BI, Tableau) to evaluate business performance.
Translate insights into strategic recommendations that guide funding, partnerships, and expansion.
Business & Product Strategy Support:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, finance, and commercial) to validate business hypotheses.
Conduct market sizing, pricing analysis, and feasibility studies for new ventures.
Identify and quantify opportunities for business optimization or innovation.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:
Develop concise reports, investor materials, and board presentations that summarize strategic insights.
Represent Cutstruct’s strategic vision in discussions with investors, financiers, and ecosystem partners.
Contribute to thought leadership materials positioning Cutstruct as a credible authority in construction finance.
The Role’s Deliverable
You will serve as the analytical engine and strategic nerve center of Cutstruct transforming raw data, market trends, and policy shifts into clear strategic directions.
Your success will be measured by the quality and impact of insights delivered to leadership and how those insights translate into market growth, operational efficiency, and investor confidence.
Required Professional and Personal Attributes
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s preferred.
4–6 years of experience in strategy, research, consulting, or analytics — ideally in a Big 4 or research-driven environment.
Advanced analytical and research capabilities with strong command of financial/economic modeling.
Proficiency in Excel, Power BI or Tableau, and PowerPoint/Google Slides.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to simplify complexity for executive audiences.
Entrepreneurial mindset with intellectual curiosity and resilience in ambiguous environments.
Passion for infrastructure, housing, finance, or development economics.
