Within the framework of the company’s objectives and yearly plans, the Packing Plant Technician is responsible for coordinating and supervising activities in the Packing Plant for the purpose of loading and dispatching Cement in accordance with loading procedures and according to raised invoices.
Contribute to the best level of performance of plant’s equipment.
What you'll be doing
Implement Lafarge Safety Rules and Regulation in accordance with the Group HSE Standards and Advisories.
Carry out equipment energy isolation according to LOTOTO procedures
Responsible for the maintenance and well-being of the Packers and its auxiliaries.
Monitors the operations and optimizes all aspects of Rotary packer in compliance with the Company Quality Standards and Requirements.
Supervise the activities of the Contractors and Lafarge Third Party Operators through proper implementation of Lafarge Contractor Safety Management Standards (CSM)
Monitor Production activities to comply with Group Environmental Standards and maintain good housekeeping at all time
Supervises and coordinate packing & loading activities in a safe manner- by ensures proper packing and loading of cement into trucks, bulk tankers and Jumbo bags by following the SOP to ensure that trucks weight is within the tolerance level on shift basis.
Identify all faults that occur in the cause of operation in their respective shift, and take necessary repair actions.
Ensure daily WBI and PMR are done on all packers and its auxiliaries for smooth operation.
Reports, through breakdown reports to superiors on causes of breakdown remedy done and spares used.
Respond to emergency repair needs and ensure quick repair of equipment on breakdown
Carry out daily stock count of cement bagged and empty cement bags on shift basis by generating a report for distribution to Production manager, Inventory Manager, Shift Leader, statistics office and other stakeholders for planning.
Liaises with Shift Coordinator and other Supervisors on the status of different Cement stocks and the need to accelerate production to meet targets and demands.
Ensure safe working condition of plant and personnel with implementation of Lafarge safety rules and regulation in accordance with the Group HSE standards and advisories.
What we are looking for
Bachelor's Degree / HND in Mining Engineering or any related field
Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a process industry
Working knowledge of cement manufacturing processes: Raw meal preparation, burning, combustion, grinding and packing operation.
Commitment to the highest standards of safe work habits
Good knowledge of safety laws and regulations.
Good written and verbal communications skills
Able to take initiative based on sound problem solving skills.
Demonstrate leadership skills via work ethics, ability to delegate and motivate, fairness, must be hands-on.

The Production Manager: to receive objectives & directives, analyze results and correct possible anomalies.
The Maintenance execution (Mechanical and Automation/Instrumentation): for equipment’s repairs and reception.

Quarry: to produce limestone, shale and other minor additives.
Safety Officer: to liase for accident prevention and inform about any problem that may occur on the plant.
