The Head of Warehouse is responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and strategic direction of warehouse operations across all outlets.
This includes overseeing Warehouse Supervisors, ensuring operational consistency, driving efficiency, enforcing compliance with SOPs, and improving warehouse performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Coordination:
Supervise and provide leadership to all Warehouse Supervisors across outlets.
Conduct weekly review meetings and performance debriefs with each Warehouse Supervisor and address gaps.
Conduct regular site visits to assess warehouse conditions, team performance, and compliance. Inventory Oversight
Ensure real-time stock accuracy across all warehouses through strict supervision.
Approve and coordinate monthly physical stock counts and unplanned spot checks.
Analyze stock movement trends to recommend inventory optimization strategies.
Enforce FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First-Out) principles.
Investigate and resolve major stock variances (theft, damage, system errors).
Track slow-moving and expiring stock; investigate and resolve significant variances due to theft, damage, or system errors.
Strategic Warehouse Management:
Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse activities.
Identify bottlenecks or delays in warehouse processes and propose corrective actions.
Coordinate with logistics and sales departments to ensure prompt dispatch and delivery.
Set and track outlet-level KPIs; provide support where performance falls short.
Optimize warehouse layouts, storage systems, and workflows to improve efficiency.
Implement cost-saving measures to reduce wastage, pilferage, and stock losses. Reporting and Analysis
Review daily and weekly stock reports submitted by Warehouse Supervisors.
Submit weekly and monthly reports to GM on stock status, losses, and operational issues.
Highlight operational risks, irregularities, or trends, and recommend actionable solutions.
Provide data-driven insights on inventory turnover, shrinkage, expiry, or pilferage. Compliance and Safety
Ensure all warehouses comply with safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards.
Conduct compliance inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
Mitigate risks (fire hazards, poor stacking, unsafe handling) through preventive measures. Team Development
Identify training needs of Warehouse Supervisors and teams across outlets.
Promote a culture of accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Parameters to Measure Performance
Stock Accuracy Across Outlets: ≥100% alignment between system and physical stock records.
Order Fulfillment Coordination: ≥95% orders dispatched on time and in full.
Supervisor Performance: ≥85% of Warehouse Supervisors meet or exceed their KPIs.
Operational Downtime/Disruptions: Less than 2% monthly.
Loss/Waste Control: Shrinkage and wastage reduced to 1% of total stock value.
Reporting Timeliness: 100% of reports submitted on time, with actionable insights.
Warehouse Compliance: 100% of outlets pass periodic safety and hygiene audits.
Qualifications
Interested candidates should possess an HND / BSc / MSc Degree with 4 - 6 years work experience.
Results Expected:
All warehouses operate smoothly with minimal disruptions.
Stock accuracy is maintained across all warehouses, with minimal losses or discrepancies.
Strong warehouse team performance driven by effective supervision and support.
Operational risks identified and resolved proactively.
Accurate and timely reporting to the GM to guide decision-making.
Reduced inventory wastage, spoilage, and expired stock.
Improved turnaround times for both inbound and outbound goods.
Salary
N250,000 monthly.
