We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Agile Product Owner Instructor

Location: Nigeria (Remote)
Employment Type: Contract (Flexible working schedule)
Experience level: Experienced
Schedule: Saturdays (9am–12pm, 3pm–6pm WAT) and Thursdays (6:30pm–9:30pm WAT)

About the Role

  • This role is a strategic and hands-on position for someone passionate about teaching, mentoring, and guiding learners at the intersection of product strategy, user experience, data-driven decision-making, and growth experimentation.
  • You will think like a product leader, communicate like an educator, and design learning experiences that translate real-world product challenges into actionable skills. Your work will empower learners to launch, scale, and optimize products effectively.

Position Overview

  • As the Agile Product Owner for the Product Management Career Path and Career Immersion Program, you will own the strategy, design, delivery, and continuous improvement of immersive, hands-on learning experiences that prepare learners for real-world product roles.
  • This role blends Agile product ownership, curriculum design, experiential learning leadership, and structured mentorship.
  • You will guide learners through work experience programs and rotational career immersions, where they build or contribute to live projects using industry-standard tools, agile methods, and professional collaboration practices.
  • You’ll also serve as a career coach, helping participants strengthen both technical and soft skills, prepare for interviews, and transition confidently into job placements or leadership tracks.

Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Strategy, Design & Delivery:

  • Define, prioritize, and own the curriculum product roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, learner outcomes, and market demands.
  • Design and deliver a comprehensive, data-driven product management curriculum covering core areas: strategy, discovery, execution, growth, leadership, and analytics.
  • Develop interactive workshops, live simulations, case studies, sprints, and capstone projects that mirror real-world product challenges faced by agile teams.
  • Integrate modern product management and agile frameworks such as AARRR, North Star Metrics, OKRs, Scrum, Kanban, and Lean Startup methodologies.
  • Incorporate industry-standard tools (Mixpanel, GA4, Amplitude, Jira, Trello, Figma, Miro, Confluence) into learning experiences to enhance practical skills.
  • Build and maintain a progressive learning roadmap that transitions learners from foundational principles to advanced strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with content creators, instructional designers, and subject matter experts to ensure that the learning experience remains cohesive, outcome-driven, and engaging.

Learner Coaching, Mentorship & Performance Management:

  • Serve as the Product Owner of the learner journey, ensuring that every stage — from onboarding to capstone completion — delivers measurable value.
  • Provide structured guidance across project ideation, discovery, design, development, testing, and iteration.
  • Mentor learners on soft skills and technical skills, including stakeholder management, teamwork, communication, and decision-making.
  • Facilitate hands-on product management activities, including market analysis, hypothesis validation, roadmap creation, prioritization exercises, and product experimentation.
  • Conduct individual and group mentoring sessions to provide personalized, data-driven feedback on learner projects, ensuring clarity, quality, and growth.
  • Promote a growth mindset among learners, emphasizing iterative improvement, experimentation, resilience, and reflective practice.
  • Use key performance indicators (KPIs), learning analytics, and project-based assessments to monitor learner progress and performance.
  • Provide regular reports on learner engagement, satisfaction, skill acquisition, and career outcomes to leadership and program stakeholders.

Hands-On Learning & Simulations:

  • Lead real-world product sprint simulations, enabling learners to experience the full agile cycle — from backlog refinement and sprint planning to review and retrospective.
  • Coach learners on data interpretation, user research, funnel optimization, and A/B testing using real or simulated datasets.
  • Facilitate workshops on trade-off decision-making, demonstrating the balance between customer needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
  • Reinforce learning objectives through scenario-based role plays, including product launches, stakeholder negotiations, and roadmap presentations.
  • Apply agile best practices to structure learning sprints, retrospectives, and continuous improvement cycles within the curriculum.
  • Supervise learners working on employer-linked projects that demonstrate tangible business value and portfolio impact.

Collaboration, Cross-Functional Alignment & Community Engagement:

  • Work cross-functionally with curriculum, content, data, and operations teams to align course development with strategic goals and market trends.
  • Partner with marketing and alumni teams to build a thriving learning community that supports peer learning, collaboration, and ongoing mentorship.
  • Host and moderate community events, group discussions, and live Q&A sessions to promote networking, shared learning, and industry engagement.
  • Collaborate with industry leaders, guest mentors, and alumni to deliver expert sessions, fireside chats, and practical case studies that enrich the learning experience.
  • Represent the curriculum at internal reviews, product demos, and external education forums, acting as the voice of the learner and advocate for continuous innovation.

Assessment, Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Define and apply structured evaluation rubrics to assess learner assignments, projects, and capstone deliverables consistently.
  • Use feedback loops, learner surveys, Net Promoter Scores (NPS), and retrospective sessions to identify improvement areas and enhance curriculum effectiveness.
  • Conduct data-driven retrospectives after each cohort or sprint cycle to identify what worked, what didn’t, and how to iterate for better outcomes.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in product management, technology, analytics, and agile frameworks, ensuring the curriculum remains current and competitive.
  • Translate performance data and learner feedback into actionable backlog items and prioritized curriculum enhancements.

Metrics, Reporting & Impact Measurement:

  • Establish and track key success metrics for the curriculum, including:
    • Learner engagement and satisfaction rates
    • Skill mastery and competency progression
    • Project completion and capstone success
    • Career placement or advancement outcomes
  • Provide quarterly impact reports to leadership summarizing curriculum effectiveness, learner outcomes, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Maintain transparent documentation of learner progress, program metrics, and agile sprint outcomes for internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Use data visualization dashboards and reporting tools to communicate performance insights effectively.

Career Immersion Program - Internships:

  • Act as a strategic mentor and program owner for the Career Immersion Program — a multi-department, hands-on experience designed to accelerate career growth and help participants identify their best-fit roles.
  • Oversee rotations across product, data, design, marketing, and operations, ensuring structured exposure to diverse business functions.
  • Ensure learners gain practical, workplace-ready skills through real projects, industry-linked challenges, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Drive the program’s career-focused outcomes, helping participants build transferable skills, professional networks, and career clarity.
  • Emphasize immersion and experiential learning — where participants solve live business problems, contribute to product development, and engage with real stakeholders.
  • Position the program as a bridge between bootcamps and internships, providing the structure of mentorship, the authenticity of employer-linked projects, and the flexibility of scalable learning cohorts.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
The department collaborates closely with:

  • Product & Curriculum Design Team (for course development and innovation).
  • Marketing & Admissions (to align academic offerings with market needs).
  • Student Success and Career Services (to connect learning outcomes with career pathways and future proof careers).
  • Technology Team (to optimise the LMS and digital learning experience).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience in product management - strategy and execution.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to convey product concepts clearly.
  • A passion for educating and inspiring young females to pursue careers in technology and digital marketing.
  • Patience, adaptability, and the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organisational skills and a creative approach to product management education.
  • Certification is a Plus.

Compensation

  • N100,000 - N250,000 monthly depending on experience and qualifications.
