Job Description
A Sales Manager is responsible for leading a company’s sales team, developing strategic sales plans, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring revenue targets are met.
This role involves managing client relationships, analyzing market trends, setting sales goals, and coordinating with marketing and product teams to align strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Planning:
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company goals.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer behavior.
Forecast sales and prepare monthly and quarterly reports for management.
Team Leadership & Management:
Recruit, train, and mentor sales representatives.
Set clear team targets and evaluate performance regularly.
Provide ongoing coaching to improve team productivity and motivation.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
Identify new business opportunities and key accounts.
Handle high-value negotiations and close major deals.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Track sales metrics, KPIs, and pipeline management.
Present detailed performance reports to senior management.
Use CRM tools to maintain accurate sales records.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with marketing to develop campaigns and promotional strategies.
Collaborate with product teams to ensure offerings meet market needs.
Communicate customer feedback for product or service improvements.
Required Skills & Qualification
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
Several years of experience in sales, with at least 5–7years in a leadership role.
Industry-specific experience may be required depending on the company.
Technical / Hard Skills:
Proven experience in sales, business development, or customer relations.
Strong understanding of sales techniques, CRM systems, and sales analytics.
Ability to create and interpret sales forecasts, budgets, and KPIs.
Competency in negotiating and closing deals.
