Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Fresh Manager to oversee all fresh food departments within our Victoria Island store.
This role covers Perishables, Frozen Foods, Hot Foods, Bakery, and Butchery, ensuring quality, food safety, availability, and excellence in customer experience.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with hands-on operational expertise and a passion for fresh food retail.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence:
Manage daily operations across all fresh food departments to ensure optimal product quality, freshness, and presentation.
Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
Oversee production planning for hot foods and bakery to meet customer demand.
Coordinate with suppliers to maintain reliable and timely deliveries.
People & Performance Management:
Lead, train, and supervise departmental teams (Perishables, Butchery, Bakery, Hot Foods, Frozen).
Conduct regular performance evaluations, coaching, and skills development.
Foster teamwork, accountability, and exceptional service culture.
Sales & Customer Experience:
Drive sales growth by ensuring attractive displays, promotions, and correct pricing.
Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
Analyze sales trends to identify opportunities for improvement or new product offerings.
Compliance & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records for inventory, wastage, production logs, and temperature checks.
Ensure compliance with local food regulations and company SOPs.
Prepare weekly and monthly departmental reports for management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field (preferred).
Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience managing fresh food departments in a supermarket or food retail environment.
Strong knowledge of perishables, bakery operations, butchery processes, and food production standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.
Strong understanding of HACCP, food safety, and cold-chain operations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment.
Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours when necessary.
