Job Title: National Sales Manager

Description
The National Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, leading and managing the sales team, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets across Nigeria.
The role requires deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical market, strategic thinking, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the industry.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pharmaceutical sales, with a proven track record of success in managing teams and developing sales strategies across multiple geopolitical zones.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company sales targets and expand market share across Nigeria.
Team Management: Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team, ensuring that they meet their individual and collective sales goals. Provide ongoing training and development to enhance their performance.
Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, trends, and potential areas for growth. Adjust strategies accordingly to stay competitive in the market.
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key players in the pharmaceutical industry, including distributors, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
Regional Oversight: Oversee sales operations in at least 4-6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria, ensuring that all regions meet their sales targets and adhere to company policies and standards.
Reporting: Prepare and present regular sales reports to the Managing Director/CEO, through the Commercial Lead, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommendations for future actions.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and expenses are kept within the budgetary limits.
Compliance: Ensure that all sales activities comply with relevant regulations and ethical standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
Experience in managing a sales team and working with key players in the pharmaceutical market is essential.
Working knowledge of sales operations in at least 4-6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and drive a sales team to success.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Ability to develop and implement long-term sales strategies that align with the company’s objectives.
Works collaboratively with others to achieve common goals and foster a supportive team environment.
Willingness to travel extensively within Nigeria to oversee sales operations and meet with clients.
