We work with local sustainably sourced, and Upcycled leathers. All our pieces are created at our workspace in Lagos, Nigeria, by a team that benefits from traditional techniques passed down through generations by a community of local artisans. At Zashadu we love to explore the tension between quiet elegance and unabashed glamour. We avoid the use of superfluous fittings and fixtures in order to give precedence to the leathers.

Job Title: Gym Trainer

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Overview

• We are seeking a motivated, knowledgeable, and energetic Gym Trainer to join our fitness team.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding members in safe and effective exercise routines, creating personalized training plans, and fostering a positive, motivating environment that supports members in achieving their fitness goals.

Key Responsibilities
Member Training & Support

• Conduct fitness assessments and develop customized workout programs.
• Demonstrate correct exercise techniques and ensure member safety.
• Provide hands-on coaching, motivation, and corrective guidance during workouts.
• Track member progress and adjust programs as needed.

Class Instruction (if applicable):

• Lead group fitness classes such as HIIT, strength training, cardio, yoga, or mobility.
• Create engaging class routines that cater to multiple fitness levels.

Gym Floor Supervision:

• Maintain a safe and clean workout environment.
• Ensure equipment is used properly and report any malfunctions.
• Offer support and advice to members during open gym hours.

Customer Service:

• Build strong rapport with clients and provide excellent customer experience.
• Answer member questions regarding fitness, nutrition basics, and wellness.
• Encourage membership retention and participation in gym programs.

Administrative Tasks:

• Maintain accurate records of client progress and training sessions.
• Assist with gym events, member onboarding, and promotional activities.

Qualifications & Skills
Required:

• Proven experience as a fitness instructor, personal trainer, or gym coach.
• Strong knowledge of exercise science, fitness techniques, and gym equipment.
• Ability to motivate and inspire clients of all fitness levels.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred:

• Experience with group fitness instruction.
• Basic understanding of nutrition and wellness coaching.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to demonstrate exercises and lift moderate weights.
• Willingness to stand, walk, and move actively throughout shifts.
