We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Accountant
Location: Owerri, Imo
Employment Type: Full-time
Description
We’re looking for an Accountant who doesn’t just “do bookkeeping,” but actually takes ownership of our financial accuracy. Someone who can step into an environment where processes existbut definitely need a smarter human to improve them.
This role isn’t about endless data entry. It’s about understanding the business behind the numbers and tightening the financial engine so the rest of the company can run faster.
Responsibilties
Month-End & Reporting:
Close the books every month with zero loose ends—you’ll own revenue recognition, accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets.
Prepare financial statements that leadership can read without needing a translator.
Investigate fluctuations and prepare variance commentary that actually explains things, not just restates numbers.
Daily Accounting Work (the kind that matters):
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, payroll clearing accounts, and any place where money likes to hide.
Maintain the general ledger and keep it audit-ready at all times.
Process invoices, reimbursements, and payments—but with an eye for catching errors, not just pushing them through.
Review expense reports for compliance and flag anything that looks “creative.”
Financial Controls & Improvements:
Redesign processes that cause bottlenecks or confusion—AP workflow, expense policy, month-end timeline, you name it.
Implement internal controls that make sense (not the overengineered kind no one follows).
Partner with operations, sales, and HR to solve real problems like revenue timing, cost tracking, and payroll issues.
Cross-Functional Support:
Work with department leads so they understand their budgets and spend without feeling overwhelmed.
Provide data-backed recommendations when numbers look off, instead of simply reporting them.

You can turn a messy spreadsheet into a clean story—and you enjoy doing it.
You hate unreconciled accounts. Hate them.
Comfortable using systems like QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar (tell us your favorite and why).
You communicate clearly and don’t disappear behind a monitor when things get busy
Month-end close is 100% accurate and consistently on time.
We can trust every account balance without double-checking you.
You’ve improved at least two financial processes and eliminated at least one recurring headache.
Leaders rely on you because your insights actually change decisions.
We respect your time no chaotic last-minute requests that could have been planned.
You’ll shape how our finance function grows, not just follow old templates.
Your work will have a visible impact on how the business makes decisions.
