We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accounts Officer

Location: Apo, Abuja (FCT)

Position Summary

• The Accounts Officer is responsible for keeping the restaurant’s financial engine running with accuracy, speed, and tight control.
• This role goes beyond bookkeeping it's about monitoring daily store cash flow, validating sales from multiple channels, keeping food and packaging costs honest, and making sure the numbers tell the real story of what’s happening in the restaurant.

Responsibilities
Daily Sales & Cash Reconciliation:

• Validate sales from POS, delivery partners, and online platforms against physical cash and bank deposits.
• Flag discrepancies in real time missing bills, void abuse, under-ringing, or cash shortages.
• Prepare daily cash position reports for management before store opening the next day.

Inventory & Cost Control:

• Reconcile consumption of food, packaging, and beverages with actual sales.
• Work closely with store managers to identify unusual variances (wastage spikes, over-portioning, pilferage).
• Support weekly stock counts and update inventory valuation.

Vendor & Supply Chain Payments:

• Match GRNs (Goods Received Notes) with supplier invoices and verify pricing against approved rate lists.
• Track payment schedules to avoid stockouts caused by delayed vendor payments.
• Maintain supplier accounts and resolve quantity/quality disputes.

Payroll & Staff Cash Advances:

• Track attendance sheets, overtime hours, and approved incentives for crew and shift supervisors.

• Reconcile staff advances, deductions, and end-of-month adjustments.

Bank & Wallet Reconciliation:

• Reconcile bank statements with sales, deposits, refunds, chargebacks, and delivery partner settlements.
• Follow up on unsettled orders, delayed payouts, or missing credits from third-party platforms.

Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports: food cost %, labor cost %, packaging cost per order, and operational variances.
• Highlight store-level trends that impact profitability slow-moving items, discount abuse, excessive voids, etc.
• Provide actionable insights rather than just numbers.

Compliance & Store Audit Support:

• Ensure proper documentation of cash handling, petty cash, and store expense approvals.
• Support internal audits—cross-checking POS settings, discounts, coupons, and manager overrides.
• Assist with tax documentation, statutory filings, and license renewals (where required).

Skills & Requirements

• Prior experience in food service, retail, FMCG, or cash-handling environments is a plus.
• Strong understanding of QSR operations: POS systems, delivery aggregators, and kitchen inventory workflows.
• High accuracy and speed comfortable working with daily reconciliations and tight closing deadlines.
• Hands-on with spreadsheets, accounting tools, and data validation.
• Ability to question numbers and dig through inconsistencies, not just record them.
• Integrity, confidentiality, and zero tolerance for loopholes or irregularities.
• Zero unexplained cash shortages.
• Accurate daily sales closure without follow-ups from management.
• Reduced inventory variances and improved food cost percentage.
• Timely vendor payments with no supply disruptions.
• Clean audit results and strong control environment.
