Job Title: Senior Structural Design Engineer

Job Purpose / Objective
To be part of the Civil/Structural discipline group within the organization, t provide leadership, technical assurance for the design, inspection, maintenance, and modification of civil structures, ensuring the reliability and availability of these structures at optimal whole lifecycle costs in line with company objectives as per business plan.
Basic functions & Principal Responsibilities:
Lead and manage civil and structural tasks/projects from start to finish, by providing technical guidance regarding civil infrastructure design, construction, modifications and structural repairs and pro-actively coordinate with maintenance and project engineers to ensure that all civil related matters are addressed and in compliance to service level agreements (SLAs).
Support the implementation of the civil Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) methodology for civil infrastructure assets (concrete and steel) to ensure effectiveness and optimization of assigned maintenance strategies
.Facilitate the review of inspection findings for civil structures in the LNG plant and ensure risk view is available as input to the Civil Integrity Status Report (CISR)
Assess customer’s requirements, site feasibility, and oversee review of final designs through inputs into the structural designs to ensure conformity to company’s design criteria, specifications, constructability and maintainability.
Assure all engineered scaffold by ensuring that these are designed and installed according to applicable company procedures, industry standards and codes.
Performing structural analysis and design for asset integrity assessment and life extension and apply principles of structural reliability to properly define the appropriate design rules for civil infrastructure
Undertake frontend engineering studies as may be required to identify and develop performance improvement changes or scope of work for civil asset rejuvenation and ensure that all proposed modifications allow safe operation of facilities and maintain technical integrity.
Provide assurance support with documented QA/QC records/documents for civil related activities on shutdowns/Turnarounds and routine maintenance execution to conform to relevant standards and achieve high integrity.
Conducts execution of Inspection PMRs in conformance with the Inspection and Integrity assurance plans.
Possess good understanding of metocean conditions and how they apply to design of topside structures.
Records and updates accurate and detailed condition history for assigned equipment inspections in the CMMS (w-IMS & SAP)
Identify and issue important T.R.A.I.N to manage civil infrastructures to mitigate threats and optimize opportunities
Job requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc./B.Eng./B. Tech. or Equivalent) in civil/structural engineering Chartered status with NICE or NIStructE will be added advantage.
Experience:
10 years post-graduation experience in civil engineering practice, five years of which should be in structural engineering consulting preferably associated with the oil and gas industry.
