Job Summary
Provide assistance in the day-to-day management of the laboratory and deliver technical support to the technical team, Business Development team, customers, and the Blending team
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing, standardize, and record reagents used for chemical analysis of production and drilling fluids and oil field assay.
Ensure availability of required analytical reagents/chemicals in production and drilling fluids, and oil field assay.
Provide support to the BD team to acquire new customers and maintain existing customers in MacDermid, Wilhelmsen and Oil field Chemicals.
Maintain good Laboratory house keeping
Participate in Oil field chemicals methods, analysis and reports
Foster productive partnerships with technical counterparts within customer businesses.
Assist in explaining technical information from customers to help market-facing teams build knowledge and grow the business
Ensure up-to-date calibration of laboratory equipment according to schedule.
Perform laboratory QA and QC on product samples received, ensure timely release of results, and maintain required documentation of all products tested.
Research and carry out seamless methods in achieving procedural manuals
Maintain reference samples used for chemical analysis for a minimum of number of 180 days, for future use.
Issue Certificate of Analysis (CoA) and batch number to every locally sourced/blended product.
Assist in blending formulations and ratio of a chemicals with the blending team.
Provide support during external audits and partake in quarantine (if required) and disposal of unwanted products safely and efficiently.
Liaise with relevant supervisory agencies like NAFDAC, SON etc on all relevant matters and secure all required permits.

Professional Qualifications
B.Sc./HND/B.Tech in any Natural Science or Technology course (Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biological Sciences)
Minimum of one year experience in a Chemical/Analytical Laboratory
Good knowledge and understanding of chemical reagents and their interactions
Very good wet chemistry knowledge
Customer service and relationship management
Good listening and learning skill
Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite
Relationship management
Deep understanding of basic chemical composition
Good communication skills
Helpful and personable attitude with evident desire to assist all employees to perform effectively
Organized and efficient; able to prioritize work with minimal or no supervision
