Overview

• A dynamic and forward-thinking company, we are excited to announce the launch of our new Groupage Logistics Business. This venture focuses on providing seamless, cost-effective shipping solutions for Nigerian importers of business items to Nigeria or residing abroad who wish to ship personal, domestic, or business goods back to Nigeria. Our core service involves grouping shipments from multiple clients into single containers for efficient importation, where one single shipment can not fill a container.
• We are seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and results-driven individual to lead this new business unit as our Logistics Business Manager.
• The Logistics Business Manager will be the strategic head of the Groupage Logistics unit, responsible for establishing, scaling, and managing all aspects of the operation from client acquisition to final delivery in Nigeria and subsequently to the item's owner.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Acquisition:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to attract and secure Nigerians, businesses, and organizations that are importing from abroad who require groupage shipping services to Nigeria.
• Actively source and build strong, long-term relationships with clients/agents abroad, serving as the primary point of contact for all groupage logistics needs.
• Achieve aggressive targets for container volume and shipment frequency.

Marketing & Team Management:

• Manage and direct a team of Marketing Officers/Agents, providing training, targets, and support to maximize client sourcing efforts.
• Oversee marketing and communication strategies targeting the Nigerian diaspora.

Operational Management:

• Oversee the entire logistics chain: consolidation/packing, international freight booking, customs clearance, and final delivery/pick-up in Nigeria.
• Ensure strict adherence to all international and Nigerian customs regulations and shipping protocols.
• Manage budgets, negotiate rates with shipping lines and clearing agents, and control operational costs.

Customer Service:

• Ensure a high level of communication and transparency with clients regarding the status of their shipments from pickup to final delivery.
• Develop efficient systems for client notification and coordination upon container arrival.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in the logistics, freight forwarding, or shipping industry.
• Proven track record in Business Development, specifically in cross-border logistics, import/export, or cargo consolidation/groupage.
• Deep understanding of groupage logistics operations, container shipping, and Nigerian Customs clearance processes.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, make strategic decisions, and manage a team to achieve business goals.

Desirable

• Existing network or understanding of the Nigerian business communities and their shipping needs.
